In Amsterdam, there is a 5 day long celebration which showcases and highlights the natural drug known as marijuana. The Cannabis Festival or the Cannabis Cup highlights on the cannabis experts to come and try the latest breeds and varieties of marijuana and hashish.

Stephen Gaskin, a pot guru discussed to the 4:20 councils on which it pinpoints the purpose of the festival is not just only to taste new breeds to get you higher, but it is an act to legalize or shall I say decriminalize the drug.

The event is held everyday during 4:20 in the afternoon. It has an open forum in which everyone is free to voice out their intentions of self freedom. Discussions are not the only highlight in this event. There are also performers known as Rainbow Gypsies which dance and sing on the stage with songs related to marijuana.


The Event is mostly related to spiritual and religion. Stories of how marijuana brought them closer to the higher one or God. The festival is like a youth camp or something like a reunion. Advertisements of cannabis coffee shops are very rumpant and is naturally present.
