See You at The Poles Activities

Category: By pisyong

See You at the Pole is a student event in which students meet at the school’s flagpole on the fourth Wednesday of every September to pray for the school, the students, teachers, and for the whole nation. See You At the Poles Activities is not a political agenda or any rally in whatever. The main thing in this celebration is that it gives the children to get together and pray for the better good of mankind.

History

See You at the Pole started in 1990 by some teens in Burleson, Texas. One Saturday night they felt on praying, and so they went to three different schools flagpoles and prayed. A challenge was made to the children throughout Texas to meet at their flagpoles and pray simultaneously. Over 45,000 students met at their flagpoles to pray at 7am, September 12, 1999.

The idea spread from there. . the story quickly spread throughout the United States.
On September 11, 1991 the students have their own day of prayer. More than 1 million students meet at their flagpoles and pray at 7am . More than 3 million students throughout United States and and other 20 countries who participate in this event as of now.

What Does It Entail?

See You at The Poles Activities is more of a prayer gathering than a formal event. Depending on the school, some students pray out loud while others are silent, some sing songs of praise and some also read the bible. Today it is not usually being practiced at around 7 in the morning, some schools even start the activity earlier that time because their classes start at around 7 am.
